Becuwe, Arsène

Becuwe was very active in de world of music for wind and percussion instruments. In the province of West Flanders he directed several bands, in places like Lichtervelde, Ruddervoorde and Bruges. As a private pupil of Paul Gilson indeed he composed mainly music for wind instruments, such as marches, overtures, waltzes and fantasies.

In addition he also wrote the operettas Baron Schinkelbeen (1935) and Hare hoogheid wil niet trouwen (Her Majesty Does not Want to Marry,1937).
