Berteloot, Wim

Wim Berteloot is a carillonneur, composer, conductor and music educator. He studied at the Conservatory of Ghent, where he obtained first prizes in solfège, harmony and practical harmony, as well as the diploma in “new structure theory” and a teaching qualification. In 2000, he graduated from the Royal Carillon School Jef Denyn.

Since October 2017, he has been City Carillonneur of Bruges. In addition, he has served as City Carillonneur of Menen (since 2013) and Diksmuide (since 2016), and as Assistant City Carillonneur of Roeselare (since 2001). He teaches at the Roeselare department of the Royal Carillon School Jef Denyn and is a music teacher at the Klein Seminarie in Roeselare.

As a conductor, he is affiliated with the male choir “De Kerels” from Emelgem (Izegem). Previously, he directed the boys’ choir Colliemando (1995–2005) and the St Michael’s Choir in Roeselare (1998–2017). His compositions are primarily situated within choral and carillon music. He has given concerts both in Belgium and abroad.
